Once in a blue moon, we come across something that we think is really quite cool and we want to draw your attention to it.  Check out the ilumo from Lumonic which is a company based in the UK.  Why do we think this is cool?  For one, the output is excellent and so is the smoothness of the field.  The fixture has a Zoom function which is substantially better than what we see in those cheap fixtures sporting an all-thread skewer with a noisy motor.   The Zoom range is from 8 degrees to 45 degrees. The best thing about the zoom is that you can get the degree spread you want without sacrificing the light output like other fixtures that require plastic lenses to change the degree spread.

 The fixture boasts two trademarks as well: Color Crossfade and Color Match.  Color Crossfade is truly clever.  When you change colors in LED fixtures you often end up passing through some disturbing colors briefly as you fade to the next color you want.  Color Crossfade allows you to fade from one color to the next without having to see the messy colors in between.  

Color Match allows you to define the primary RGB colors in the fixture to match those of any other luminaire. Alternatively the primaries can be set by choosing standard Lee Filters built into the fixture. If you have ever used the color pickers on consoles these days you know how subjective and arbitrary that can be.  Color Match provides the best match possible to the Lee color palette and you don't have to rely on the console to make a best guess.  You can also create your own library of custom, favorite colors stored on the fixture itself for easy recall.

 It is IP20 rated with ethernet and DMX built-in. The fixture can even be ordered with an option WDMX wireless card built-in.

 And the coolest thing of all????  Wait for it..........................the next accessory for this fixture will convert it into a moving light!  Truly, I kid you not.  You can now have an inventory of quality, zoom-able LED wash fixtures that can be converted to a moving lights when needed.
